Entreq Challenger Infinity RJ45 Ethernet Cable
£750.00
Description
The Challenger Infinity is best described as Entreq’s mid-range Ethernet cable. By default it is 1.1m long and is priced at £750.00 – included is a 0.55m hard wired Challenger Infinity Ground Cable, you simply need to add a ground box of your choice to get up and running.
As you move up the Entreq range you simply get more of everything, greater level of detail and refinement, incredible body and texture. One important factor to stress here is the ground box you use, it can make a massive impact on the overall performance of the cable, it will work really well with a Minimus Infinity, but step up to a Silver Minimus Infinty or an Olympus Ten and really will take the Challenger Infinity to a whole new place!
What can it be used for? A whole variety of applications!
A typical home network for audio may have a Router, NAS drive, UPnP streamer, and maybe a simple Network Switch.
You could replace any of the cables which transmit audio along them, so, from the NAS drive to the router, then from the router to the streamer.
Entreq can manufacture this cable terminated with RJ11 plugs aas option, so you can connect your router directly to the master wallplate if so desired. If you use a CD quality streaming service such as Tidal or Qobuz doing this pays dividends, but as a starting point replace the cable that feeds into the streamer itself.
How does it work? A conventional ethernet cable will contain a foil shield, any noise or interference travels up and down this shield the along the length of the cable. the delicate musical signal is carried along the conductors, the conductors that run next to the shield. In comparison the Entreq cable is completely unshielded, but the noise/interference that is is drained away to the box. Due the nature of networks/routers they are inherently noisy, routers/switches use very inexpensive power supplies to keep costs down, but they inject noise right back where it’s not wanted.
If you make a comparison between a basic ethernet cable or even an expensive branded one, the differences are not subtle. It genuinely offers tremendous value for money.
