This is the very latest version of the Gold Note DS-10 – released in November 2022, this new version of the DS-10 offers Tidal Connect streaming (the previous version of the DS-10 Tidal streaming was via the Gold Note App), a brand new display and improved performance over the outgoing model with refined digital and analogue stages.

The Gold Note EVO Ds-10 is an incredibly sophisticated and versatile box of tricks!

It is a very high performing DAC, connect your Melco, Aurender, Innous or computer to its USB input or connect your CD transport to one of the Optical, Coaxial or AES digital inputs.

There is also an ethernet input (as well as Wi-Fi) so if you connect to DS-10 EVO to your network you can also stream Spotify (Connect), Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, all controlled via the Gold Note iOS or Android app. With the new EVO version of the DS10 Tidal streaming is via Tidal Connect

The DS-10 EVO is also a Roon Ready Endpoint and it also supports Apple Airplay, vTuner Internet Radio and Bluetooth.

The DS-10 EVO can also be easily configured to use as a Pre-amp as well as as both RCA and XLR analogue outputs – connect it to one of their PA-10 Power Amplifiers and just add speakers! There is also a high performance headphone output on the front panel as well.

For the money performance is outstanding, connect a Melco N100 via USB and a PA-10 and the sound is engaging, refined yet communicative, it is never forward, aggressive or strident in the way it presents itself.

If you subscribe to a streaming service the DS-10 on it can act as a fully fledged one box source component, although the performance can be further enhanced with the addition of the EVO-10 Power Supply, priced at £1200 this PSU is a really effective upgrade.

The standard DS-10 EVO only offers digital inputs, if you require an analogue input there is a version called the DS-10 EVO Line, this model has a single analogue input in the form of a 3.5m socket, the DS-10 EVO Line is £3000.
