Soulnote – Series 1 ver 2

Series 1 ver 2  is Soulnote’s entry level range, it comprises of just 3 products – an integrated amplifier, a DAC and a phonostage.

For the price points the build quality and quality of the finish is excellent, the newly released ver 2 models have had a bit of redesign, gone are the fluted front panels replaced by a design which looks like the range topping Series 3

Series 1 may be Soulnote’s starting point, when you are up close with any Series 1 component based on they they look and feel you wouldn’t ever describe them as ‘entry level’, the whole range offers exceptional value for money and ver 2 has pushed that even further.

Soulnote do not design any products based on measured specifications, instead all of their products are designed subjectively, by ear. Minimal measurements are carried out when a product is complete purely as a confirmation of design. Non negative feedback are circuits are used throughout, they don’t measure as well, but they give Soulnote products a real sense of life and vigour about the way they present the music.

Soulnote’s house sound is captivating and addictive, there is a real sense of richness and sweetness and dare I say it ‘soul’ about the way is music is delivered. Detail is fantastic, but it is never etched, artificial or pushed upon you, the bass response is excellent as well. For the price points the performance is very special.
