Soulnote – Series 2 ver.2

In the latter part of 2025 Soulnote announced they are releasing new versions of their Series products. The 3 units in the range retained their model numbers simply with ver.2 added at the end, so no news models numbers for people to get confused over.

Visually version 2 has had a nice facelift. I really liked the old fluted design from the previous range, but these models look superb and they have a real look about the range topping Series 3.

So, we have the A-2 ver.2 Integrated Amplifier, the D-2 ver.2 DAC and the E-2 ver.2 Phonostage.

Performance has received aa rather dramatic uplift and well and it’s refreshing to say that prices haven’t dramatically increased as well. The A-2 has increased from £6300 to £6900, the E-2 has increased by £100 and the D-2 DAC remains at £7700.

The original Series 2 proved to be rather popular and I can only see that sales will improving further with this new models.

Series 2 is Soulnote’s second range of products, their middle ground and the range which is proving to be the most popular in terms of overall sales and based on initial enquiries which I’ve received. Series 2 is made up of 3 products just like Series 1, there is an integrated amplifier, a DAC and a phonostage.

All of the components from Series 2 are beautifully built, the fit and finish is exemplary and superior than many brands offerings at greater price points.

The chassis itself is larger than the Series 1 models and there is even greater attention placed on the finer details to ensure maximum performance is obtained, details such as the top cover is not secured down but instead ‘floats’, it connects to the chassis and sides in only 3 places.

Series 2 performance takes a big jump over Series 1, whilst that is strong at its price point Series 2 simply gives you more everything. The presentation is open and fast yet seductive and alluring. Tonally it is very sweet, but when music has drive, attack and immediacy it is all there. It is expressive, expansive and a real delight to listen to.
