Plixir Elite BDC NUC 19V Power Supply

The Plixir Elite BDC balanced DC power supply is designed to reduce all the noise types present in a DC power supply. Upon deep studies it is apparent that traditional DC power supply circuit cannot eliminate them all.  These include Ground loop current and diode rectification/pollution noise.

This Plixir Power Supply has been designed specifically in mind for the Intel NUC and the Roon Nucleus, it is a 19V 4 amp supply and offers an obvious uplift in performance with greater clarity, less overall noise and more engagement. When connected to a Roon Core it really does work very well.

Plixir’s ground-up approach begins with a balanced AC power design, along with a two-stage voltage regulation. Their unique balanced AC power circuit effectively removes ground loop noise and reduces diode noise.

The first stage pre-regulation filters the bulk of the noise, specifically the high-frequency noise, and the heat from the second stage voltage regulator. The 2 stage regulation design as a “gate” to prevent the downstream noise from crossing back to the AC power hands.

Whilst that all sounds very technical, in simple terms one of these power supplies installed on a Roon Nucleus or an Intel NUC running Roon Core offers an obvious uplift in performance, Roon offers a superb experience with their interface, but running Roon does have a slightly detrimental hit on overall performance as the Roon Core is very processor intensive and upgrading the PSU really does pay dividends, generally the better the system is the bigger the benefit is.
