OePhi Loudspeakers & Cables

OePhi are a company based in Denmark who design and handcraft a range of loudspeakers and cables which offer incredible performance, precision and musicality.

OePhi’s tagline is ‘Timing is Everything’ and this accurately outlines OePhi’s goal with all of their products – to deliver impeccable time domain accuracy.

My first experience with OePhi was at Munich High End 2024, a mutual friend introduced me to the founder, designer and owner of OePhi, Joakim Juhl, and I spent the best part of an afternoon listening to a selection of loudspeakers and cables in their room. It didn’t take long for me to realise that OePhi was doing something very different and very special and that I wanted to be involved.

Fast forward almost 12 months and after some extensive evaluation and forensic listening across my entire portfolio of electronics I’m absolutely thrilled to have both OePhi loudspeakers and cables onboard here at Audio Therapy. They certainly do things quite differently to most in the audio industry and the results we have been getting from their products has been nothing short of exceptional.

OePhi’s approach to product design is incredibly purist, their loudspeakers and cables are designed to not colour or shape the musical signal, but rather step out of the way and minimise the impact they make on the final sound. Essentially what you feed in is what you get out with OePhi.

At each price point all OePhi products are incredibly revealing and they offer outstanding levels of realism.  As you progress through their product line up you gain greater levels of transparency, clarity, dynamics and bandwidth. The differences between their various ranges and products are meaningful and immediate.

Many customers are often surprised when they discover that OePhi actually started with their range of cables, the loudspeakers followed several years later.

OePhi’s cable design places emphasis on making cables ‘disappear’ and not act as an impediment to the signal that alters or impedes the signal that passes through them. They place huge focus on conductor design, cable geometry and material selection, all of which combine to deliver maximum bandwidth with minimal phase and time domain distortion. One key factor is allowing the signal through the cable as fast as possible and critically ensuring that the information arrives with the highest possible time domain integrity.

Don’t assume that OePhi cables are only for use with their own speakers. They is clearly some real synergy going on when you combine their speakers and cables together, but their cables can be used in any system and they offer genuinely superb performance and excellent value for money.

They are a real breath of fresh air that have taken several customers by surprise when they have tried them in their own system, comfortably out-performing other cables which are much more established

Dynamics, bandwidth and timing are sensational, if your system requires an injection of realism or suffers from poor timing and flow OePhi cables should definitely be explored further, they are some of the finest cables I’ve ever explored and deliver a level of honesty and linearity that many will simply have never experienced before.

OePhi cables follow the same naming hierarchy as their loudspeakers, with the Lounge as the entry level range, moving on to Ascendence, Transcendence, Immanence with Reference as the flagship range.

Over the past 12 months or so OePhi have had a significant number of product reviews featured in the hi-fi press, both speakers and cables and they have been collecting awards left, right and centre.
