New Entreq Ground Cables
Entreq have released a new range of ground cables, from the previous range only Apollo and the range topping Olympus continue although I’m pleased to report that both have these cables have had price reductions, Apollo has gone from £680 to £620 and Olympus has gone from £1550 to £1400.
There are now 6 cables in the range, starting with a brand new version of the Copper which has been redesigned from the last version of Copper which existed 3 or 4 years ago. Priced at £120 the Copper works superbly when a system sounds a little forward or aggressive, it can reign in harshness without crushing detail or dynamics, but they have a real sweetness about the way they sound, excellent value for money.
The next ground cable is the Hexa, this is £280 and is best thought of a modern version of Challenger Infinity or Argo, tonally it is like the Copper, but it has a much greater sense of scale and weight.
From the Hexa we step up to the Revelation which is £400, the Revelation is a silver based ground cable and is best thought of a budget version of the Apollo, it offers greater transparency and insight compared Copper and Hexa, both of which are more rounded.
The Apollo (£620) has consistently been the most popular Entreq ground cable we have sold. Sonically it is like a Revelation as mentioned above, but it simply gives you more performance, more insight, more nuance, greater weight.
The Olympus is the flagship cable and is priced at £1400, it’s quite a jump in terms of cost, but the performance takes a considerable leap forwards as well. At its price point Olympus is generally only used on the more expensive ground boxes (Olympus Ten T, Olympus Infinity T, Poseidon etc) and whenever a customer borrows one there is only ever one outcome. Noise reduction is substantial and as a result the system can really take a sizeable leap forwards, background become blacker, quieter and the system gains focus, poise and it really develops the presentation.
Olympus remains the range topping cable, but Entreq wanted to introduce a cable that would deliver a major slice of Olympus performance but at a lower price point. This leads us to Sudoku, this cable is £900 and it shares a lot of what the Olympus does, it outperforms an Apollo, compared to Olympus the Sudoku has a smaller gauge and is more flexible than the Olympus.
All Entreq ground cables now come as standard with a hardwired termination, there are 7 different options, RCA, XLR (male and female), RJ45, USB (type A and type B), RJ45 and Spade. Ground cables with removable connectors are a cost option special order.
I have stock of Copper, Hexa, Apollo and Revelation ready to go, with a mixture of Apollo and Olympus on demonstration. Any questions please get in touch.
