OePhi Lounge 2 – Now on Demonstration

We’ve been OePhi dealers for approaching a year now and it’s fair to say it been a huge success story. We’ve had a healthy number of customers who have expressed an interest in the brand and we’ve placed many pairs of speakers at all different levels of their range, Transcendence and Immanence models have been the strongest in the numbers of numbers sold.

In the latter part of 2025 OePhi released a new speaker range called Lounge, this is now OePhi’s entry point and was conceived to be a more accessible version of the Ascendence range. There is a standmount, the Lounge 2 (£2695) and a floorstanding model, the Lounge 2.5 (£4495)

Although Lounge are OePhi’s starting point they still share the same design principles as their other models – low distortion, extreme bandwidth and unrestricted dynamics combined with perfect phase-transition and time domain performance. In order to hit the price points of these new models it was obvious that some compromises would have to be made but OePhi’s emphasis on timing and coherence ensures that these new models perform to an incredibly high standard, there’s no sense of the Lounge models being sonically dumbed down or built to a price.

The mid-bass driver is an SB Acoustics model, a Danish design but manufactured in Indonesia to help lower costs, the crossover is a more simplified design compared to the other OePhi models. Joakim Juhl, OePhi’s owner and designer spent a long time evaluating numerous crossover components to find the best possible match with the SB bass driver and the results are quite remarkable given the price points. Lounge uses brass terminals as opposed to the copper terminals that are used in the other models.

In the audio world the word compromise often carries a negative connotation, but OePhi’s pursuit of creating an entry level that performs to their exacting standards has resulted in 2 incredibly strong loudspeakers. They are more forgiving than the other models in the OePhi line up, they aren’t as transparent and invisible sounding, but they have a presentation which simply sounds correct and they are hugely enjoyable to sit in front of.

They are brilliantly detailed, incredibly fast and nuanced, the Lounge don’t dig as deep as the Ascendence 2 or Transcendence 2, but they are by design at quite different price points to their bigger brothers. The Lounge 2 is a speaker that offers strong value, great performance, effortless realism and has that rare attribute of making you want to listen to more music, just one song turns into one more album and another late night beckons!

£2695, isn’t pocket change, but they are the least expensive loudspeaker we carry, thankfully it is an incredibly strong starting point and a brilliant introduction into the world of OePhi.
