OePhi Transcendence 2.5 Loudspeakers

The Transcendence 2.5 is the speaker that sits between the Ascendence 2.5 and the Immanence 2.5, each of these 3 models share the same cabinet, it is just the drive units and crossovers which differs.

The Transcendence 2.5 uses the same rebuilt SEAS tweeter as the Ascendence 2.5, but with this speaker OePhi use a Purifi mid/bass driver. Unsurprisingly this is not an off the shelf drive unit but one that has been built by Purifi to OePhi’s specification. They come without the polypropylene coating which makes the drive unit much faster and more agile.

As you makes the jump from the Ascendence to the Transcendence there is a significant increase in performance, with an instant and obvious uplift in resolution, clarity, dynamics, bass, every element is dramatically improved. The Ascendence 2.5 is a wonderful sounding speaker.

They present you with a large open window to the music, they are fast, thrilling, very open and they are not coloured in any way.  This may translate them to sounding forward or unforgiving in a system that isn’t well optimised or balanced, but when the recipe is right these are loudspeakers which simply excel.

With sensitivity rated at 89dB they are not difficult to drive, but as ever the better the amplifier that drive them the better the end result, partnered with a Vitus RI-101 mk2 makes for a really compelling system.
