Shunyata Research Everest X
The Everest X is the flagship power conditioner in the Shunyata range and is the culmination of all of their expertise and knowledge wrapped up in one stunning package, the X iteration was released by Shunyata in June 2025 after being unveiled in May at Munich High End 2025.
The original Everest was a bit of landmark product from Shunyata, it performed to a very high standard and given its price point (the original Everest was £10750) it was actually a popular model, I supplied quite a few over the past 3 or 4 years. Obviously nothing stands still and Shunyata have spent quite a long time developing the performance of the Everest even further and a side by side comparison between the original and the new Everest X is not subtle, the new version has jumped up to £15,750 but the performance jump is just as marked.
Given the price point Everest X won’t be for everyone, but once you hear what an Everest X is capable of delivering, even in a system which be modest in terms of cost relative to what the Everest X costs, there is no going back.
It allows you do hear your system perform at the very best of its abilities and impact it can make is quite an eye opener.
From Shunyata…….
The Everest-X is the most advanced power distributor in our company’s 25-year history. As the successor to the award-winning Everest 8000, the Everest-X represents a new summit in the pursuit of absolute fidelity, offering a previously unattainable level of resolution, timing, and emotional engagement.
The QR/BB™ is a patented device which dramatically enhances the perception of dynamic impact and timing when connected to amplifiers or other high-current electronics. The QR/BB™ is unique in that it provides a local reserve of energy, or Coulomb charge, that mitigates the inductive reactance of the AC power line without using coils, transformers or capacitors. The QR/BB™ acts as an instantaneous energy reserve when placed in-line with an AC power supply.

KPIP v2™ Shunyata Research’s proprietary Kinetic Phase Inversion Process includes four days of continuous KPIP v2™ processing which refines conductor metals at the atomic level. This dramatically reduces burn-in time and significantly improves sonic performance, delivering a relaxed and life-like presentation. When compared to the original process, KPIP v2™ represents a dramatic performance upgrade on par with a component-level upgrade.
The NIC™ (Noise Isolation Chamber) is a patented Shunyata Research device that reduces high frequency power line noise. It employs a ferroelectric substance that actually absorbs high frequency noise without any of the reactive negatives associated with transformers and large capacitors as used in conventional power conditioners.

AP (Transverse Axial Polarizer) is a patent-pending technology developed by Shunyata Research to enhance the performance of its reference signal cables. The evolution of this technology has led to the creation of TAPc, a groundbreaking advancement that significantly reduces the size of the modules, enabling their application across a broader range of products, including power distributors, power cords, interconnects, digital cables and speaker cables.
The sonic results of TAPc technology include a profound drop in perceived noise floor, effortlessly portrayed dynamics, and an exceptional rendering of timing and coherency. These benefits are unique to TAPc, setting it apart from any competing product or technology. Even to an untrained ear, the effects of TAPc are immediately apparent and consistently repeatable across various components and systems. Essentially, the TAPc modules act as force multipliers, elevating the listening experience to levels many would not have thought possible.
POWER HARP technology, originally developed to address current resonances in speaker cables, has now been adapted for power distribution in the Everest-X. Through extensive research, Caelin Gabriel identified the presence of current drift and audio-frequency current resonances within power delivery systems, much like standing wave modes in room acoustics. In the Everest-X, the HARP module functions as a current-mode diffraction device, disrupting these resonances to enhance resolution, coherence, and dynamic stability across connected components. By mitigating these power system artifacts, HARP technology helps create a more refined, noise free listening experience, allowing the full potential of a system to be realised.
Many audiophile grade connectors are made from brass or bronze. While some may get a plating of silver, gold or rhodium, the majority of the current is carried by the contact’s base-metal. CopperCONN® connectors contain pure copper contacts which have a much higher conductivity than brass. The difference in performance is clearly audible.
Common-mode noise is different than differential noise and is much more difficult to measure and eliminate. For the purest signal possible, Shunyata Research has developed a CMode filter that effectively reduces common-mode noise without introducing the sonic compression effects associated with conventional filters. It reduces high-frequency noise distortion while delivering an analog ease and palpable background silence that closes the gap between digital and analog systems.
CCI™ filters have the unique ability to reduce component-generated power line noise without inhibiting DTCD® (dynamic transient current delivery). This unique filter element prevents power line noise from one component contaminating the other adjacent electronic components. Shunyata Research’s CCI™ filter modules consist of proprietary multi-stage filters that reduce power supply-generated noise without the use of heavy transformers, coils or large capacitors.
DTCD® Analysis is a proprietary measurement technique developed to measure instantaneous current flow through very low impedance electrical conductors and contacts. It is used to optimize the design of electrical parts and materials, ensuring optimal instantaneous current delivery. DTCD® Analysis gives Shunyata Research a clear competitive advantage in the design and development of high performance power delivery products.

A C19 power cable is required to feed the Everest, ideally one of their XC cables, there are 5 models in the XC range
Gamma X XC £749
Theta X XC £1100
Alpha X XC £2850
Sigma X XC £4000
Omega X XC £8000
The better the power cable you use to feed the Everest X the better the overall performance from the system will be, with the Everest X the Omega XC and Sigma XC have proven to be the most popular cables. The Sigma XC compliments an Everest brilliantly, but the Omega XC (which was designed specifically to partner the Everest) is the obvious choice if budget permits – the combination of the 2 is as a signifcant as a major component upgrade, I’d go as far to say you’ve have not heard your system properly until you’ve experienced it connected to an Everest, it helps the entire system take a back seat to the music.
no matter the system and regardless of where you live. It’s a game-raiser and a game-changer in one.”
