Entreq Interconnect Cables

Entreq Interconnect Cables

The first thing I need to stress here is what Entreq cables focus on, or more importantly what they don’t focus on. If you are looking for major excitement with focus on detail retrieval and sonic fireworks then Entreq possibly isn’t for you. But if you put value on your systems ability to naturally recreate a musical presentation with accuracy, focus and poise with superb texture and coherency, you’ll find Entreq cables to be a truly addictive experience.

Entreq’s cable line up starts with their entry level cable called Hexa, this was released in September 2023, this cable was a new concept for Entreq in that it is their  first cable which does not require a ground box to work, they are relatively inexpensive and they offer excellent value for money.

Above Hexa we have Primer Infinity, this range uses grounding and each of the cables comes with a Primer Ground Box, the Primer Infinity cables have a 0.55m ground wire terminated with a 3.5mm plug, connect the cables to the box and you are good to go.

The next 2 cables are all new additions to the line up as of Autumn 2024 – we have Revelation, which follows the same design process as Hexa, so no grounding is needed. Revelation is a cable which sonically reminds me of Konstantin Infinity, hugely capable, low noise, very quiet sounding.

Above Revelation we have Sudoku, this is another jump up the ladder, Sudoku comes with hard wired ground cables and an Olympus Ten T Ground Box included in the price.

The Olympus remains Entreq’s flagship interconnect

In each range of cables there is an RCA and XLR analogue interconnect, along with digital interconnects with Ethernet, USB (A to B), plus RCA Coaxial, AES/EBU and BNC options.

Primer Pro, Primer Infinity, Argo and Triton all come with hard wired ground cables and a ground box included in the price. Primer Pro and Primer Infinity come with a Primer Box, Argo comes with a Silver Minimus Infinity and Triton comes with an Olympus Ten Tungsten. With each of these cables everything required to get up and running comes included in the price.

The Olympus range comes with hard wired ground cables, but without a ground box, allowing the selection of the most suitable box for the system in question.

As you move up the cable ranges the level of performance increases, there is a greater level of noise removal which unlocks more detail, there is greater subtlety and nuance to the music as the noise floor drops away. At each level in the range the performance is superb, what is most appropriate comes down to your system and your budget.

If you have a good system Revelation and Sudoku can deliver a revelatory level of performance.  For me Entreq’s raison d’etre is all about engagement and creating an emotional connection to the music and this is something many well know cable brands fail at delivering, many often impress on a quick demonstration but can become quickly fatiguing and aggressive, Entreq cables are often the opposite, a quick demonstration may not initially impress, but they slowly build over time and they virtues can often take a while to reveal themselves.

Entreq Ethernet Cables & USB Cables

In this modern world of streaming music the digital cable is more important than ever, with music streaming services now being used as a serious source the chain from the home router through to your streaming device is critical. Networks are intrinsically noisy places and this can dramatically hold back system performance.

Ethernet Cables

Entreq’s range of ethernet cables follows the same hierarchy as the interconnects listed above, they start with Hexa

If you stream music (Tidal/Qobuz/Spotify) or use Roon replacing a standard ethernet cable with an appropriate ethernet cable based around your system and budget can be a sizeable upgrade. Networks are very noisy environments and if you look after the signal you can find your streamed music improves quote dramatically.

The Primer Infinity Ethernet Cable comes with a Primer Ground Box and the Sudoku comes with an Olympus Ten T.

The Hexa and Revelation cables are designed in such a way so they do not need or require a ground box, the flagship Olympus comes with a hard wired ground cable, but it doesn’t come with a ground box to allow the customer to choose the best option for them.

USB Cables

The range of Entreq USB cables are all terminated USB A to USB B so they are ideal to connect from a Melco, Innous, Aurender or computer to a USB DAC which has a USB B input.

As with Ethernet Cables please not overlook the importance of a good USB cable in a system, it can have a profound impact on the way a system performs.

AES/EBU and RCA digital cables are also available to order.
